Title: " Victors Fantasy "
Water Color
Size: 34 x 26
Price: $400
Description: Victor's Fantasy originated in sketches made at Victor/ Victoria.
There was a scene in the musical
where one of the actors uses a ladder to gain access to a hotel room.
One of the very male men comes to realize it might be ok to express his
homosexual feelings since he believes his boss is doing that with Victor
who is really a woman in disguise. Here the revelation is depicted as an
angel coming from heaven to give his blessings . This alludes to the
renaissance paintings ,where angels appear frequently. The arches
refer to the theater as well as to church. The small figures are Radical
Faerie devotees bearing witness to their life style in drag, affirming
thir life style. The halo reminds us that there are saints among us
everywhere.
