Marlboro , Orange County, NY is the place where this apple orchard scne was created. In the realistic group of paintings by Volk this is one of his most successful. It was bought by a poetess who works in Dutchess County and Vermont. She was a mem- ber of the Poughkeepsie Unitarian,Universalist Fellowship which Mr. Volk attends regularly. He, and the poetess, Nancy Wright, were both in the choir there.
